Menu is simple but sometimes the simplest of experiences are the best. Wow, was it tasty and fresh.
You simply have to have a hot ham and cheese croissant with relish and the warm ham and cheese scones ( yes scones) with relish as well.
Desert wise the warm apple pie with ice cream, the moist carrot cake and the apple and cinnamon crumble were just delicious.
Prices were reasonable and what a great environment, nestled in the Cobh heritage centre, near Cobh train station. Special thank you Donna and Ashley for looking after us.
Nicely placed inside the old train station. It can get busy with queues for service but otherwise it's worth a visit. Be warned-in the summer it can get hot due to the glass ceiling
I always say that it's most convenient having a cafe to pickup even a light meal, a coffee, tea, or cold drink in a large place where you're likely to spend some time at like a cinema or large exhibition. The Queenstown Story at the Cobh Heritage Centre is one such place. It's lovely sitting there sipping your cuppa in the beautifully restored old Cobh Railway Station platform. Mind you, the food is basic, tea, coffee, scones, sandwiches and hot soup, but it's perfect. It's well lit and has a beautiful old railway station ambience. Friendly service.
I was here on the Christmas period and came for afternoon tea with my wife. I asked for two pieces(one of them an apple pie slice)of cake and a tea. I asked for cream and they said they were out if I wanted I could buy an ice cream scoop. After I sat down there was a lady that came after me with a piece of cake and cream. I was appalled. I went in and asked why was there cream for her and not for me, and I was told she was the manager and she had that put away for her... It's amazing how an employee or manager is being served before a paying customer. I am a local and I am not coming back if this is the way the locals are treated.
